Shooting Creek was director J.T.S. Moore’s masters thesis film at USC. It was my first score and continues to be one of my favorites. Our collaboration wedded an orchestra of dark-hued strings and French horns with an aggressive military drum line – fitting for the story of a defeated Confederate soldier on the run. The scoring approach is theme-driven, featuring a prominent and emotionally stirring Appalachian fiddle.
“Shooting Creek is a Civil War piece with production values – wide screen forest vistas, wonderful period music by Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli – that effectively compete with Last of the Mohicans.” – LA Weekly
